How to Tell Fake Base Set Charizards
Base Set Charizard is the most counterfeited card in the hobby. Key authentication tests:
- Light test: Hold the card against a bright light. Genuine Wizards of the Coast cards have a black layer in the center — you'll see light only on the edges. Fakes often show uniform light transmission.
- Font: The HP number (120 HP) uses a specific font. Fakes often have slightly wrong weight or spacing.
